Viseart have a reputation of having some of the best eyeshadow palettes on the market, so when I saw they were bringing out three ‘Theory Palettes’ I was dying to get my hands on them.
I have two of their original 12 pan palettes which I love and rate highly – their pigmentation is amazing, they blend like a dream and they have people talking all over the interwebs.
The Theory palettes are 6 pan palettes – perfectly set out for travelling or for the professional makeup kit. Each palette has a side of three matte shadows and three shimmer shadows. This feature is what stood out to me. I have so many palettes that are either all shimmer or all matte and the ones that are a mixture, most of the time don’t have enough mattes for all the shimmers. It is a constant battle in finding the perfect all round palette – Don’t you agree?
The three palettes are very well-rounded and thought out in colour selection which is great for those beginners to makeup as all the colours compliment each other and it takes out the overwhelming thoughts of ‘There are too many shadows, I don’t know where to start’ which I am sure we all have had at some point.
The palettes don’t have names or anything but each palette is set out so it has base shadow colours, high light colours, Dark and light shimmery lid colours (can be used to go from day to-night), contour shades for the crease and a dark colour which can be used for liner.
Each palette is small and compact and fits in the hand easily, and each of the shades can be taken out so you ca interchange the colours between palettes if you are wanting t
Lets get into the palettes and swatches – that’s why you are here right?
Cashmere is a lovely neutral leaning towards cool palette.
The shades are wearable for everyone but it suits pale skin perfectly. It can be taken easily from day to-night easily and is perfect for those who are starting out in makeup.
The shimmery shade have both neutral and cooler shimmers – this one doesn’t have any warm shades.
The matte shades are again on the cooler side, has a beautiful mid tone brown, a gorgeous deep chocolate-brown and the matte white which can be used as a brow highlight.
The pigmentation of these shadows was beautiful – very creamy and buttery. They blend out with little effort which makes this a perfect little palette.
Minx is by far my favourite one of the three, but then again, I live for warm eyeshadows.
This is more of an evening makeup palette compared to Cashmere, but if you love bold dramatic eyes on a day-to-day basis, you will love this.
The three shimmer shades are stunning!
The maroon shade is intense and the light shade makes a perfect inner corner highlight or all over the lid with the mattes in the crease – but that copper. THAT COPPER… Is the star of the palette.
The matte shades have my three favourite types of colours.. the lightest shade isn’t stark white, making it wearable for more people, the middle brown is beautiful in the crease and that dark chocolate-brown is everything. Add some of that to deepen up the crease or to use as an eyeliner – this palette is perfectly put together.
Chroma has everything you need for true dark grey smokey eye – The classic bombshell look.
This one certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you are a makeup enthusiast, the classic smokey eye is something that I a sure you will want to master.
The shimmer shades in this palette are gorgeous – there is the taupe silver, the deeper gun-metal and the light shade would be beautiful all over the old for a less intense smokey eye. These shimmer shades are perfect. They are creamy, blendable and are amazing to work with.
Out of the matte shades, the thing I like is that there isn’t a black. There is a deep charcoal grey which unfortunately comes off slightly patchy compared to the others. It’s not bad in any way, but compared to all the other mattes this one isn’t as smooth as the others. The matte white isn’t something I usually like, but I feel in this palette that is needed to brighten up and a good contrast to all the dark colours.
Over all I love these palettes – they are the perfect size, the perfect quality and everyone would be able to use them.
I currently have a giveaway to win all three of these palettes – Details on how to enter here
I picked mine up from PM Studio and they retail for $58 each.
