This week Benefit have released a new collection of lip balms to their already extensive cosmetic line. Posie, Lolli, ChaCha and Bene are all names that you would have heard before in their cheek and lip stain collection. The balms are hydrating lip balms that have a slight tint to them, the same shade as their corresponding tint.
Lets take a moment and look at the packaging. If you are anything like me and a sucker for packaging then these might be something to look at. They are a gorgeous metallic finish which really stand out and set them apart from the usual ‘lip balm’ packaging – you know the ones, the small plastic twist up balms that the stickers tend to wear off and leave with a sticky mess. (well mine do anyway)
OK, stepping away from the packaging and lets talk about the actual product. The balms have a nice rosy scent to them, the same scent that you get from the ‘Benetint’. The balms contain mango butter which is great for hydrating. They apply so smoothly on the lips, they feel amazing on and you can almost feel the hydration going back in your lips. The texture of these actually remind me of the same creamy consistency of the YSL Rogue volute lipsticks, just really creamy and hydrating. As far as the colour goes, its sheer, very sheer. Saying that it can build up quite quickly. As far as pigmentation goes, bene-balm and lolli-balm are my favourite as they stand out the most on my lips and you can see the hint of colour.
Here are some lip swatches:
If you are after highly pigmented balm, then these won’t be for you. If you are after a very comfortable and highly moisturising lip balm then these are worth a look at. They are available from Benefit counters now and retail for $26.
