The final installment of Skincare Month, I am going to talk about Moisturisers, exfoliators and face oils and Night Creams
You can watch the video here:
Starting with exfoliators, there are 2 that I have been using for a very long time.
Dermologica Daily Microfoliant – This exfoliant is a powder consistency that once you add water to, it emulsifies and starts foaming with a slight grainy texture. It works really well. I find the best part of this one is that it brightens dark spots on your face over time. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and fresh without feeling too harsh on the skin. Certainly recommend this for regular exfoliating on all skin types.
You can get Dermologica Daily Microfoliant from Dermologica salons, some department stores or online for $71/75gms (probably find it cheaper online)
Kate Somerville Exfolikate – This exfoliant has everything covered. It has a physical exfoliation, a chemical exfoliation and enzyme exfoliation to renew you skin – at first it does tingle a bit, but it does pass and doesn’t last very long. This is an exfoliating treatment that is designed to be left on for 2 minutes and when you wash it off you skin is glowing. Twice a week is all you need to use this exfoliant to see results.
You can get the Kate Sommerville Exfolikate from Mecca Cosmetica for $98/60mL
Antipodes Light facial day cream – this lightweight moisturiser gets sucked into the skin almost instantly but leaves no oily residue on your skin. It adds enough moisture that my skin doesn’t have that tight dry feeling after washing and doesn’t seem to clog pores of cause breakouts. It is made from natural organic ingredients, it s a great every day moisturiser for all skin types.
La Roch-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus – This moisturiser is great for problem skin or to help clear up breakouts. It’s designed to unclog pores, clear imperfections and minimise discolouration from blemishes. This is so lightweight and certainly doesn’t leave you skin feeling oily in any way. It’s a fantastic everyday moisturiser particular for those with oily and problematic skin.
You can get Effaclar Duo Plus from Priceline Pharmacies for $27.99 for 40mL
Dr Brandt Ruby Crystal Retinol Hydracreme – This illuminating cream can be used under foundation, kind of like a primer, to add a beautiful ‘glow from within’ look. I use this also alone at times as a moisturiser. Due to the retinol its great for anti aging and does assist in clearing up my skin. It’s a beautiful light weight moisturiser, soaks into the skin and leaves your skin with a gorgeous glow. This is perfect for more mature skin and those who are wanting to start anti aging skin care.
You can get Dr Brandt Ruby Crystal Hydracreme from Mecca Cosmetica for $86
Antipodes Joyous Protein-rish Night Replenishment serum – This oil is designed to be worn at night fully replenish your skin. If you are ultra dry, then introducing a face oil would be beneficial for you to help combat that. This oil contains natural organic ingredients, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily or greasy. You wake up and your skin is softer, feels more hydrated and because of that you look younger. I would recommend this for dehydrated and mature skins.
You can get Antipodes Joyous Protein-Rich Night Replenishment Serum from Priceline Pharmacies for $58.99/30mL
Josie Maran Light Argan Oil – This argan oil is perfect for every day use on not only your face, but your hair, any dry skin you may be having. Being the ‘Light’ version it’s obviously not as heavy as the original but this helps it soak into your skin bit better without leaving you feeling like an oily mess. It is light enough to also be used on problematic skin, and has never cause my to have breakouts. I really enjoy using this during winter especially under my moisturiser as I am THAT dry, I sometimes feel like my daily moisturiser just isn’t enough.
You can get Josie Maran Light Argan Oil from Kit Cosmetics or Mecca Online for $58/50mL
Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream – This night cream is thick, creamy, hydrating and fantastic for your skin. It is nourishing and is filled with natural oils and antioxidants to help aging skin. This is perfect for night-time as it just soaks right into your skin and i feel like my skin feels plumper in the mornings. Since using this I haven’t felt the need to try anything else, nor have I wanted to. I really love this night cream and recommend it for anyone. It’s even a great cream for young women to introduce to their skin care regime as the natural ingredients isn’t going to cause any problems for them.
You can get Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream from Priceline Pharmacies for $48.99 for 50mL
While writing this I realised I totally forgot to mention any face serums throughout Skincare Month. Seriously!
I have already uploaded the video for this post SO instead of having to re-film, re-edit and re-upload I am going to sneak in a smaller post later on this week with serums. YAY
And that is everything for this weekly instalment. Are there any products here that you use and love, or do you have any recommendations for me to try this year? Leave a comment and let me know!
