Woo!! Happy New Year!
What an exciting time, beginning of a new year and even more importantly its time for my Favorite Beauty Products of 2012!
This has been such a big year for me, taking over my business, started you tube and I have found some A-MAZING beauty and makeup products!
Here is a list of all products mentioned in my Favorites video and where you can get them from!
Moroccan Oil Treatment: Can get here, but look around can also get cheaper from most hair salons. Best value comes in gift sets!
John Frieda ‘3 day straight’: Can get from Priceline or anywhere that sells John Freida, this is some seriously amazing hair straightening product!
MAC Face & Body: $60 from Mac Cosmetics, or selected David Jones or MYER.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation: A holy grail product for me. Can get from PM Studios for $59. I don’t often use ‘drug store’ foundations as I can’t get a colour to match my skin colour. HD Foundation comes in 27 shades from Porcelain to the darkest of dark. I can always guarantee to get an exact colour match EVERY time!
MAC Matt Bronze: $39 from MAC Cosmetics – best used for contouring as it is a matt finish
NARS Blush ‘Torrid’: $45 from Mecca Cosmetica, I personally got my NARS blushes from a friend in the states as they are so much cheaper over in US and get them shipped over.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes: Not available in Australia =( This was another purchase from the US that was sent to me from my wonderful friend Daniele. You can check out the products here if you are interested.
Lime Crime Candied Eyed Primer: Hands down the BEST Eye primer I have used. Click here for a review. You can get it from Lipstick Republic ** (See below for a discount code)
P.S – I learnt today it is also totally waterproof, a hot day called for swimming, and eye makeup hasn’t moved one bit!
*Note – Lime Crime are currently re-formulating this product so it’s currently unavailable till potentially March ’13
Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ Volume Express: Truly is as it states (for a change) lashes do truly appear as if I have applied false lashes. Love love LOVE this! Available from almost anywhere, priceline, target, supermarkets. Price varies with sales although usually around the $19 mark.
Eye of Horus Mascara: Can get from the EOH website, well worth looking at to see the story behind the products and what other people are saying about them. Can also see my review here. I buy from Lipstick Republic** $30 and worth every cent.
Armani ‘Eyes to Kill’ mascara: I got mine from David Jones, but can get anywhere where they sell Armani Cosmetics. $55 for a mascara is a ridiculously high price to pay but it is well worth it. Won’t use it to wear to the shops, but certainly will pull it out for more dramatic looks.
L’oreal Infallable Eyeshadows: Another product that you can get anywhere that sells L’oreal products. Again keep an eye out for sales, Priceline often have 30% off or buy 2, get 2 free as they are usually around the $28 mark which is pretty expensive for a single eyeshadow.
Makeup Geek Gel eyeliner: Do yourself a favour and check out these! Get them from Makeup Geek site and for only US$7.99 and affordable shipping worldwide this really is brilliant. I have done a review of these here, if you want to see swatches of all the colours.
Eye of Horus Pencil Liner: No other pencil stays in my waterline for longer than 30 mins. This is brilliant! $30 and you can get it from EOH or from Lipstick Republic**. Comes in Black, Bronze and Charcoal.
Revlon Lip Butter: Anywhere that sells Revlon products. Usually around the $21 from Priceline, but again keep an eye out for 2 for 1 deals etc. Can pick up a really good bargain! Comes in 20 shades to choose from.
OCC Lip Tar: I can’t rave about these enough! Total ‘holy grail product’ material. $16 which is the same as the US, so well done OCC for not ripping off your Australian consumers =) You can get them from Scotty’s Makeup or Lipstick Republic**. I have done a review of the Metallurgy range here.
Urban Decay Naked Palette: Another ‘not easily accessable’ product here for us Aussies, (sorry guys) You can however buy them from Beauty Bay for approx AUD$50 but may vary depending on the exchange rate.
Real Techniques Brushes: I got mine from SA Hair Supplies in Sydney, their stores are open to the public but I think you need to be in the industry to buy online. I did get mine for wholesale prices as I am a Makeup artist. (review here) You can also get them from Priceline but personally they are SO overpriced. I recommend getting them from iherb.com as they sell for US RRP and ship internationally and pretty fast from what I have heard.
Rae Morris Brushes: One of the only cruelty free natural haired brushes, to me that in itself is a selling point for someone who loves natural hair brushes. You can get them from Rae Morris’ website and range from $9.95 to $85 for the amazing Radiance Brush (average $30 each) Oh and while you are there, check out her book, The Ultimate Guide’ – truly a bible for Makeup artists!
Beauty Blender: Hands down the best makeup sponge in the market, and I have tried them all. Latex free which is great if you are allergic to latex, and just blends foundation flawlessly. To see my review and demo, click here. You can get Beauty Blenders from Crush Cosmetics for $24.95 or Lipstick Republic** for $19.95 for an individual sponge. They do come in some great value sets too which are worth checking out.
Inglot Shadows: $10 each as part of the freedom system. I did a review on that here. Can buy online from Inglot’s website. Their matt shadows are so incredibly pigmented, well worth looking at, especially if they are being used on mature skin!
MAC ‘Woodwinked’ Eyeshadow: Buy from MAC Cosmetics or selected David Jones or MYER. $33 for the individual shadow. If they discontinued this product I would have to go and but 10 of them to make sure i never ran out of this shadow.
Z Palettes: I would be lost without my Z Palettes. I have done a full review on these, so you can check that out here. Come in 3 sizes and many colours. I got mine from MakeupNet, but can also get from Crush Cosmetics. I also have insider information that they are coming soon to Lipstick Republic. =)
Makeup Geek Eyeshadows: The best product when it comes to value for money. $5.99 in pan form or $7.99 in a compact form from Makeup Geek site. For the price you get the same amount of product as a MAC eyeshadow, are not tested on animals AND are so incredibly pigmented. I have a video review on these coming up. Tip: save your money and buy in a pan and keep them in a Z Palette!
Sigma ‘Paris’ Palette: Only had this for a month but it has completely blown me away. Price for product and quality is fantastic. Can get it from Sigma Beauty for $59, but it is limited edition so if you want it, get it before its gone.
Saucebox ‘Creme de la Creme’ Palette: This is amazing, seriously. Watch this brand as they are fairly new and they are going to go far. Click here for my review. $38 for the ‘Creme de la Creme’ palette from Lipstick Republic**, who are the only Australian stockist of Saucebox Cosmetics.
Savoir Faire Lipsticks: Another brand to keep an eye on. Australian brand all the way from Perth WA. Their lipsticks are pure luxury. $48 which might seem a bit expensive for a lipstick but well worth it. Click here to see my review. You can get their lip range from Lipstick Republic**, and they have a face palette which you can get from BellaBox.
** The wonderful people at Lipstick Republic have a discount code RepublicVIBs which gives you 10% off your entire order. Hooray for discounts!!
